Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Sprinkler Installation Engineer to join our Fire Suppression Delivery team across the UK. You will install and commission water-based, gas, foam, and hydrant systems on complex projects, with a hands-on, safety-focused approach.

This role requires a mechanical mindset, the ability to read drawings, and a willingness to travel and stay away from home when required. A valid UK driving licence and commitment to quality are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience installing and commissioning fire suppression systems.
• Strong mechanical background with pipework, valves, pumps and related equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, commission and hand over mechanical fire suppression systems (Wet, Dry, Pre-Action, Deluge, Hydrant).
• Perform system flushing, pressure testing, flow testing and functional testing per procedures.
• Diagnose and resolve installation, performance and commissioning issues on-site.
• Support pre-commissioning inspections, system demonstrations and final client acceptance testing.
• Ensure installations align with drawings, specs and industry standards.
• Work across projects from small works to major contracts on live sites or customer facilities.
• Plan and execute work safely, minimising risk and disruption to live systems.
• Maintain full compliance with health & safety policies and RAMS where required.
• Promote safety-focused culture and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Build relationships with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, customers and subcontractors.
• Provide progress updates, technical feedback and commissioning support.
• Assist with snagging, system optimisation and post-handover support.
• Travel extensively across the UK using a company van; stay away from home when required.
• Be available for evenings, weekends and planned shutdowns where necessary.
