Job summary

A leading fire protection and security company in Reading is seeking a skilled Fire Servicing Engineer to service and maintain fire alarm systems across the region. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant experience and strong problem-solving skills. Responsibilities include conducting maintenance visits, diagnosing faults, and providing customer support. A full UK driving license is required, and ongoing training will be provided as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Fire Engineer or similar.
• Experience servicing fire alarm and life safety systems.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Fire Servicing Engineer to join our team covering Reading and surrounding areas.

Role Overview

The Fire Servicing Engineer will be responsible for the service, maintenance, fault-finding and minor remedial works on a range of fire detection and life safety systems. You will work across a varied portfolio of commercial and industrial sites, ensuring systems remain compliant, reliable and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair fire alarm systems
• Respond to planned maintenance visits and reactive call-outs across Reading and surrounding areas
• Diagnose system faults and complete repairs efficiently
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately
• Ensure all work complies with relevant British Standards and Health & Safety regulations
• Provide excellent customer service and technical advice to clients
• Identify opportunities for remedial works, upgrades or improvements
• Participate in an on-call rota where required

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience with major manufacturers such as Gent, Advanced, Kentec, Morley, C-Tec or similar
