Job summary

RCC Connect is seeking a Technical Engineer to install, service and maintain fire safety and security systems from our Baildon offices. You will work on fire alarms, CCTV, access control and intruder systems, ensuring compliance with BS5839 and BS EN 50131 while producing reports.

A UK driving license, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to respond to on-call standby are essential. You will join a supportive team focused on safety, quality and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fire and security system installation and maintenance.
• Quals such as FIA certification desirable.
• Knowledge of Fire Safety standards and relevant legislation (e.g., Fire Safety Order, BS 5839).
• Familiarity with installation and servicing of CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair fire detection, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems
• Conduct regular maintenance checks on fire and security systems, identifying and resolving faults
• Ensure systems are compliant with local safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., BS5839 for fire alarms, BS EN 50131 for intruder alarms)
• Carry out system tests and provide reports on the operational status of installed equipment
• Provide on-site technical support and training to customers on the use of fire and security systems
• Respond promptly to emergency service calls, diagnosing and repairing faults in systems as required
• Work closely with clients to assess their needs and offer appropriate solutions
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, including detailed reports and job sheets
• Ensure all installations and repairs are completed in a safe and efficient manner
• Stay up to date with technological advancements in fire and security equipment and industry regulations
