ionic Recruitment Ltd. is recruiting an experienced Fire & Security Project Manager to lead the design-to-handover of Fire & Security projects in Manchester. You will shape a new division, own projects and collaborate with clients and suppliers to ensure successful delivery.

The role requires strong PM experience in fire alarm/design, knowledge of BS 5839 and related standards, and the ability to manage estimates, procurement and margins. Excellent career progression and ownership opportunities.

Position: Fire & Security Project Manager
Location: Manchester / North West
Start Date: ASAP
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 DOE + benefits

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fire & Security Project Manager to join a growing business that is developing its own in-house Fire & Security division.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants more than a traditional Project Manager position, with the chance to take real ownership and play a key role in developing a new division from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Fire & Security projects from design through to completion, commissioning and handover.
• Oversee fire alarm system design and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
• Prepare project estimates and quotations.
• Plan labour, materials, procurement and project programmes.
• Manage project costs, margins and client expectations.
• Coordinate installation, testing and commissioning activities.
• Produce project documentation, drawings, certificates and handover information.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, manufacturers and suppliers.
• Help develop processes, systems and accreditations required to establish the new division.
• Provide technical support across Fire & Security projects.
• Identify opportunities for new business and support the growth of the division.
• Work closely with senior management to develop the department and its offering.

Requirements

• Strong experience within the Fire Alarm / Fire & Security industry.
• Proven Project Management experience from design through to completion.
• Good knowledge of BS 5839 and relevant Fire & Security standards.
• Experience with fire alarm design and/or design management.
• Experience preparing estimates and quotations.
• Strong understanding of procurement and project costs.
• Good commercial awareness, including project margins.
• Experience dealing with clients, consultants and contractors.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with BAFE, BS 7671, access control, CCTV and intruder alarms would be advantageous.
• Experience with manufacturers such as Advanced, Kentec, Notifier, Morley, C-TEC, Hochiki, Apollo or Gent would be beneficial.
• Previous experience helping to establish or develop a Fire & Security department would be highly advantageous.
• Relevant references to confirm previous experience.
