Job summary

Protec Fire & Security Group Ltd is seeking a Project Manager to oversee fire detection and security system installations from enquiry through final accounts. You will ensure efficient delivery, liaise with clients and internal teams, and manage finances to keep projects profitable.

The role requires knowledge of fire detection systems, British standards, and strong communication and leadership skills. A full UK driving licence is desirable and flexibility in hours is noted.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering projects from tender to commission.
• Knowledge of current British Standards is preferred.
• Experience with Fire Detection and related equipment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from enquiry to final accounts.
• Control project finances to ensure profitability.
• Oversee on-site installation while coordinating with clients and departments.
• Prepare detailed work programmes to meet labour and deadline requirements.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, design and other departments for timely delivery.
• Negotiate contract variations and agreements as needed.
• Highlight risks and obtain contractual guidance and ensure accurate drawings.
• Perform any other duties relevant to the role.

Job description

To work on the project management of new Fire Detection and Security installations. With a sound knowledge of past and present Fire and Security systems you will ensure efficient delivery and installation of new projects and upgrades to existing systems.

Typical Responsibilities

• To handle projects from initial enquiry through to final accounts.


• Undertake full financial control of projects, delivering the works efficiently and profitably.


• To effectively manage the installation works on site whilst liaising with clients and other departments.


• Prepare detailed work programs to ensure all labour and deadline requirements are met.


• Liaise with manufacturing, design and other relevant departments to ensure timely delivery.


• To negotiate contract variations and agree works where required.


• To highlight possible problem areas and obtain commercial contractual advice and ensure contract documentation drawings are correctly designed.


• Any other duties commensurate with your position.

Qualifications

• A Levels or equivalent qualifications

Experience

• Experience within a similar role managing complete projects from tender to commission


• Working knowledge of current British Standards


• Knowledge of Fire Detection and associated equipment
