Job summary

Protec Fire and Security Group is seeking a project manager to oversee Fire Detection and Security installations from enquiry to final accounts. You will prepare detailed work programs, drive on-site delivery, liaise with clients and internal teams, and ensure projects are completed profitably.

A sound knowledge of British Standards and experience with fire detection equipment are required, along with a full driving license.

Qualifications

• Must have project management experience in Fire Detection or Security installations.
• Knowledge of British Standards (BS) and fire detection equipment.
• Strong communication and administrative abilities within project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from enquiry to final accounts.
• Take full financial control of projects for profitability.
• Oversee on-site installations and coordinate with clients and departments.
• Prepare detailed work programs to meet labour and deadline requirements.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, design and other departments for timely delivery.
• Negotiate variations and manage contract documentation.
• Identify risk areas and obtain necessary contractual advice.

Job description

To work on the project management of new Fire Detection and Security installations. With a sound knowledge of past and present Fire and Security systems you will ensure efficient delivery and installation of new projects and upgrades to existing systems.

Typical Responsibilities

• To handle projects from initial enquiry through to final accounts.
• Undertake full financial control of projects, delivering the works efficiently and profitably.
• To effectively manage the installation works on site whilst liaising with clients and other departments.
• Prepare detailed work programs to ensure all labour and deadline requirements are met.
• Liaise with manufacturing, design and other relevant departments to ensure timely delivery.
• To negotiate contract variations and agree works where required.
• To highlight possible problem areas and obtain commercial contractual advice and ensure contract documentation drawings are correctly designed.
• Any other duties commensurate with your position.

Qualifications

• A Levels or equivalent qualifications

Experience

• Experience within a similar role managing complete projects from tender to commission
• Working knowledge of current British Standards
• Knowledge of Fire Detection and associated equipment
