Job summary

Grassroots Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Fire & Security Engineer to cover the Harlow/Brentwood area, spanning Northern Home Counties. You will service, maintain and repair CCTV, intruder alarms, access control and door entry systems, while diagnosing faults and coordinating with customers to ensure high-quality, safe workmanship.

The role includes planned and reactive maintenance of fire alarm systems, small works, and occasional installation tasks across varied security technologies.

Qualifications

• Strong practical knowledge of IP CCTV, intruder alarms, access control and door entry systems.
• Experience servicing, fault-finding and repairing fire alarm systems.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical faults independently.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing CCTV, intruder alarm, access control and door entry systems
• Diagnosing faults on IP and analogue CCTV networks, control panels, devices, circuits and associated equipment
• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on fire alarm systems
• Completing small works, system alterations and minor installation projects
• Attending customer sites covering Northern Home Counties
• Providing clear technical updates and recommendations to customers and site contacts
• Completing service reports, job documentation, risk assessments and method statements
• Ensuring van stock, tools and test equipment are maintained and accurately recorded
• Supporting occasional associated systems work, including gates, barriers, disabled refuge or nurse call systems
• Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota, currently approximately one week in twelve
