Job summary

Grassroots Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled Fire & Security Engineer to service CCTV, intruder alarms, access control and fire alarm systems across the Harlow/Brentwood area.

You will diagnose faults, perform planned and reactive maintenance, complete small works, and coordinate with customers, while enjoying a strong overtime structure and a company van.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Fire & Security Engineer or similar multi-skilled field engineer.
• Strong practical knowledge of IP CCTV, intruder alarms, access control and door entry systems.
• Experience servicing, fault-finding and repairing fire alarm systems.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing CCTV, intruder alarm, access control and door entry systems.
• Diagnosing faults on IP and analogue CCTV networks, control panels, devices, circuits and associated equipment.
• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on fire alarm systems.
• Completing small works, system alterations and minor installation projects.
• Attending customer sites covering Northern Home Counties.
• Providing clear technical updates and recommendations to customers and site contacts.
• Completing service reports, job documentation, risk assessments and method statements.
• Ensuring van stock, tools and test equipment are maintained and accurately recorded.
• Supporting occasional associated systems work, including gates, barriers, disabled refuge or nurse call systems.
• Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota, currently approximately one week in twelve.
