Job summary

Mitie is recruiting for a Fire Safety professional to take ownership of fire safety across a major aerospace site in the UK. You will lead fire safety strategy, ensure compliance, and collaborate with Property Teams, the Primary Fire Authority and statutory agencies.

Key duties include conducting risk assessments, enforcing action plans, auditing properties, reporting incidents (RIDDOR), and delivering training. A strong background in fire safety and relevant qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in property management or a similar sector.
• NEBOSH Fire Certificate or IFE Level 3/4.
• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
• Membership of IFE, IOSH, IIRSM or similar, with CPD evidence.
• Experience of fire safety in a medium to large organisation.
• Working knowledge of building fire safety systems and M&E.
• Full, clean UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
• Eligibility for CTC or SC clearance (5-year checkable history).
• MIFireE, TechIOSH/MIOSH, PAS 79:2012 experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out and manage fire risk assessments and DSEAR assessments.
• Own enforcement action plans and see them through to completion.
• Audit properties and investigate incidents, including RIDDOR reporting.
• Analyse incident data and recommend practical fixes.
• Deliver fire safety training and keep leaders up to date on legislation.
• Manage fire equipment and contractors, and report monthly to the Director.

The role
