Fire Safety Operations Manager - Client Direct - Interim - up to £450 per day - East London

One of our long standing clients are currently looking to recruit an Interim Fire Safety Operations Manager to join their facilities team based at a well-known east London University.

The role will be for an initial 4-month period, with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent position.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading educational institution and play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of fire safety.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Manage day-to-day fire safety operations across the university's campuses.
2. Develop, implement, and review fire safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
3. Conduct comprehensive fire risk assessments to ensure compliance with fire safety legislation and standards.
4. Provide expert advice and guidance on fire safety matters to senior leadership and operational teams.
5. Ensure fire safety equipment and systems meet compliance with British standards.
6. Lead fire safety audits, inspections, and ensure corrective actions are taken as required.
7. Collaborate with external agencies and contractors to maintain high fire safety standards.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Minimum Level 4 Fire Safety qualification or equivalent.
2. Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) Membership (MIFireE) or willingness to achieve within 12 months.
3. Previous experience in fire safety management, preferably within higher education or a public sector environment.
4. Strong knowledge of building guides (ADB) and relevant British Standards including BS 9999 and BS 9991.
5. Expertise in the principles of building construction as it relates to fire safety.
6. Experience with reading building plans and technical drawings.
7. Working knowledge of fire alarm systems in accordance with BS 5839.
8. Proven experience in developing and implementing fire safety policies and procedures.
