Job summary

WFS Patron in Barnsley is seeking a Business Fire Safety Inspecting Officer to join the team. The role involves regulatory fire safety inspections, giving expert fire safety advice, and supporting engagement with businesses to uphold safeguards across the region.

Ideal candidates will have Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety (Auditor) or be on a development pathway, GCSEs in Maths/English, and a valid driving licence to travel to sites and carry out inspections.

Qualifications

• Experience dealing with the public is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to plan, manage and prioritise workloads.
• Current full driving licence is required.
• GCSE Maths & English (A-C) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking regulatory fire safety inspections and related activities.
• Providing fire safety advice, guidance, engagement and technical support.
• Inspecting business premises in South Yorkshire and carrying out enforcement where required.
• Contributing to risk reduction and discharge of statutory fire protection duties.
