Job summary

EDF Energy seeks a Fire Safety Engineer for an onsite role at Bridgwater, supporting the Hinkley Point C project. You will develop fire safety governance and operational readiness, lead risk assessments, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure safety and regulatory compliance throughout commissioning and operations.

The position offers a starting salary of 67,000 per annum with potential for bonuses and a market-leading pension.

Qualifications

Experience in fire management and design within complex industrial or nuclear environments.
Ability to develop fire safety governance and operational readiness documentation.
Knowledge of UK fire safety legislation (RRO and related regulations).
Experience supporting or participating in WANO readiness and reviews.

Responsibilities

Develop fire safety governance arrangements and operational readiness strategies for the future station.
Lead Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Hazard Analyses with input from key project stakeholders.
Support implementation of fire prevention strategies and fire protection arrangements.
Provide specialist advice on fire legislation, regulatory compliance, and fire protection systems.
Contribute to emergency preparedness, response planning, and WANO performance readiness activities.
