Job summary

EDF Energy Limited, based at Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater, is seeking a Fire Safety Subject Matter Expert (SME) to help establish fire safety governance and regulatory compliance for the new nuclear station. You will lead Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Hazard Analyses, collaborate with stakeholders, and shape emergency planning and fire protection strategies for startup readiness and long-term safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in fire safety within complex industrial or nuclear environments.
• Ability to develop governance, arrangements and operational fire safety docs.
• Knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and regulatory frameworks.
• Security Vetting criteria and UK residency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire safety governance and operational readiness strategies for the future station.
• Lead Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Hazard Analyses with project stakeholders.
• Support implementation of fire prevention, protection and compliance programs.
• Provide specialist advice on fire legislation and regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to emergency preparedness, response planning and WANO readiness.
