Job summary

Search People is seeking an experienced Fire Safety Consultant to deliver fire risk assessments across diverse premises in the UK. You will assess complex sleeping risk environments and provide on-site practical solutions in line with fire safety law and guidance.

The role also includes mentoring junior staff, supporting quality assurance, and occasionally delivering fire safety training, with regional and national travel as required.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 Diploma in Fire Safety or equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance, including Approved Document B, the Fire Safety Order 2005, and BS 9999/9991.
• Professional accreditation with IFE, IFSM, FRACS or IFPO.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to support both clients and colleagues.
• A detail-oriented approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel regionally and nationally as required.
• Health and safety qualifications and membership of IOSH or IIRSM are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Undertake fire risk assessments across a wide range of premises, including complex and sleeping risk environments.
• Provide clients with practical solutions and expert advice on-site in line with regulatory requirements.
• Support quality assurance processes and mentor other consultants through workplace assessments.
• Occasionally deliver fire safety training and assist clients with general health and safety needs such as inspections and audits.
