Job summary

B&D Reside is seeking a Fire Safety Coordinator to manage fire safety programmes across the housing portfolio. You’ll coordinate assessments, track actions and maintain comprehensive records, working with the Fire Safety Team and external contractors.

The role offers hybrid working across Barking, B&D Reside sites and home with a contract that has potential to become permanent. Salary ranges £30,000–£45,000, offering exposure to building safety and compliance in social housing.

Qualifications

• Experience in fire safety, building safety, health & safety or property management.
• Knowledge of Fire Safety Act 2021 and Building Safety Act 2022.
• Experience supporting risk assessments, audits and compliance checks.
• Strong organisational and programme coordination skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accurate records management.
• Strong written and verbal communication; reporting and performance data.
• Stakeholder management with contractors, residents and internal teams.
• Experience handling incidents, compliance failures or safety issues.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and housing/property/compliance systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor fire safety programme of work and ensure actions are completed and tracked.
• Maintain accurate fire safety records, compliance information and dashboards.
• Monitor performance against programmes and escalate overdue actions.
• Support QA of Fire Risk Assessments and related documentation.
• Collaborate with Fire Safety Surveyors to deliver safety works.
• Develop and implement plans for high-risk buildings and interim measures.
