Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking an Assistant Fire Safety Advisor to join the Architecture and Design team. The post involves delivering advice on fire safety, supporting design teams and contractors, and contributing to NHS Scotland guidance development.

Based in a Public Services Delivery Scotland office with national travel and some home working; 36 hours weekly, Monday–Friday. Applicants must reside in the UK and have right to work.

Qualifications

• Degree in fire engineering or related subject or equivalent demonstrable experience in the fire safety sector.
• Suitable candidates with fire safety sector experience and a willingness to learn will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice, guidance and support on a broad range of fire safety issues.
• Support Design teams, fire safety advisors during NDAP and KSAR processes.
• Assist with development and administration of NHS Scotland Guidance documentation.
• Contribute to research of good practice and innovative thinking in fire safety relating to building design.
