Job summary

SGS is seeking a Fire Risk Assessor to undertake fire risk assessments across commercial, industrial and public-sector environments in the West Midlands. The role is field-based, Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, with a salary from £42,000 pa and a company vehicle.

You will identify hazards, provide practical recommendations, prepare detailed reports and liaise with clients to improve fire safety. This position requires a Level 3 Fire Risk Assessment qualification and relevant experience in Fire

Qualifications

• Level 3 Fire Risk Assessment qualification is required.
• Registered with IFE/IFSM/FRACS is essential.
• Full UK Driving Licence is required for field work.
• Minimum 5 years relevant Fire Risk Assessing experience.
• NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate is desirable.

Responsibilities

As a Fire Risk Assessor, you will undertake fire risk assessments across a range of commercial, industrial and public-sector environments, identifying hazards and providing practical recommendations to help clients manage their fire safety responsibilities.

• Conducting fire risk assessments in accordance with current legislation, standards and best practice guidance.
• Identify and highlight fire safety risks, providing clear recommendations and escalating high-risk concerns where appropriate.
• Produce, review and quality check detailed fire risk assessment reports.

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent communication and customer service skills

Essential Qualifications / Experience

• Level 3 Fire Risk Assessment qualification
• Registered with a recognised professional body - IFE / IFSM / FRACS
• Full Driving License for use in the UK
• Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in Fire Risk Assessing
• NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate (Desirable)
