Job summary

ProGroup Recruitment is seeking an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to join a growing fire safety consultancy in Hebburn. You will independently undertake FRA across social housing, residential blocks, commercial buildings, and education facilities, delivering practical, compliant reports and proportionate recommendations.

The ideal candidate holds Level 3 or 4 FRA qualifications, has at least 1 year of FRA experience, and holds a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Fire Risk Assessment experience.
• Level 3 or Level 4 FRA qualification.
• Strong report-writing and client-facing skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Membership of IFE/IFSM/IIRSM or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive Fire Risk Assessments for social housing, residential blocks, and commercial premises.
• Produce detailed FRA reports with practical recommendations.
• Carry out Fire Door inspections and passive fire protection surveys where required.
• Provide technical fire safety guidance and liaise with clients and site teams.
• Ensure all documentation meets regulatory requirements and timelines.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fire Risk Assessor to join a growing fire safety consultancy based in Hebburn. Due to continued expansion and increasing demand across the North West and Yorkshire regions, we are looking for a professional who can independently undertake Fire Risk Assessments while providing clients with practical, compliant and commercially focused fire safety solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive Fire Risk Assessments across a variety of premises including:
• Social Housing
• Residential Blocks
• Commercial Buildings
• Education Facilities
• Mixed-Use Developments
• Produce detailed FRA reports with clear, practical and proportionate recommendations.
• Undertake Fire Door Inspections and Passive Fire Protection Surveys where required.
• Provide technical advice in accordance with:
• Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
• Fire Safety Act 2021
• Building Safety Act 2022
• Relevant British Standards and Approved Documents
• Liaise directly with clients, site teams and stakeholders.
• Maintain high standards of quality, professionalism and customer service.
• Assist clients with fire safety compliance and remedial action planning.
• Ensure all reports and documentation are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Support continuous improvement and contribute technical knowledge within the wider fire safety team.
• Minimum 1 year's experience undertaking Fire Risk Assessments.
• Level 3 or Level 4 Fire Risk Assessment qualification.
• Strong understanding of:
• Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
• Fire Safety Act 2021
• Building Safety Act 2022
• Experience producing professional Fire Risk Assessment reports.
• Good knowledge of compartmentation and passive fire protection principles.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Tiered Fire Risk Assessor Register (TFRAR) Registration.
• Membership of IFE, IFSM, IIRSM or equivalent professional body.
• Experience carrying out:
• Fire Door Inspections
• Compartmentation Surveys
• Experience working within social housing and public sector environments.
• Knowledge of BAFE SP205 requirements.
