Job summary

Kilnbridge is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the Fire Protection team at our HQ in Canning Town, London. You will oversee commercial delivery on passive fire protection projects across the UK, ensuring profitable, compliant outcomes while maintaining strong client and supplier relationships.

You will manage budgets, forecasts, valuations and final accounts, administer NEC/JCT contracts, control costs and mitigate risks.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Experience in passive fire protection, remediation, construction, fit-out or related specialist subcontracting environment.
• Strong understanding of commercial management principles, including cost control, forecasting and value reporting.
• Experience working with NEC and/or JCT forms of contract.
• Knowledge of Building Safety legislation and Building Regulations.
• Experience preparing valuations, variations, claims and final accounts.
• Strong commercial awareness with ability to identify and manage project risks.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clients, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Membership of RICS or working towards accreditation is advantageous; IFE Level 2/3 in Passive Fire Protection desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial and financial aspects of passive fire protection projects from inception to final account.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, cash flow reports and cost value reconciliations.
• Produce interim valuations, applications for payment, variations, claims and final accounts.
• Support NEC/JCT contract administration, ensuring obligations are met and opportunities maximised.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to build strong relationships.
• Undertake site visits to review progress, assess variations and support accurate reporting.
• Prepare, negotiate and submit quotations for change and additional works.
• Monitor project costs to identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Support procurement, including subcontractor engagement and cost control.
• Prepare clear commercial reports in line with business requirements.
• Contribute to tendering, estimating and business development for Fire Protection.
