Job summary

Kilnbridge is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the Fire Protection team across the UK. You’ll manage commercial and financial aspects of passive fire protection projects, prepare budgets, valuations and final accounts, and support NEC/JCT contracts with project teams and suppliers.

You'll bring a QS qualification (HNC/HND/degree), experience in passive fire protection or related field, and strong cost control and reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of commercial management principles including cost control and value reporting.
• Experience with NEC and/or JCT contracts.
• Experience preparing valuations, variations, claims and final accounts.
• Knowledge of Building Safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and financial aspects of passive fire protection projects from inception through to final account.
• Prepare and monitor project budgets, forecasts, cash flow reports and cost value reconciliations.
• Produce interim valuations, applications for payment, variations, claims and final accounts.
• Support the administration of NEC and JCT contracts, ensuring contractual obligations are met and commercial opportunities maximised.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to build strong, collaborative working relationships.
• Undertake site visits to review project progress, assess variations and support accurate reporting.
• Prepare, negotiate and submit quotations for change and additional works.
• Monitor project costs to identify risks and opportunities, implementing effective mitigation strategies where required.
• Support procurement activities, including subcontractor and supplier engagement, package management and cost control.
• Prepare clear and accurate commercial reports in line with business reporting requirements.
• Contribute to tendering, estimating and business development activities, supporting the continued growth of the Fire Protection business.
• Work collaboratively with operational teams to ensure safe, compliant and commercially successful project delivery.
