Salary: £58,000 - £63,000 DOE + car allowance
Purpose:
The Fire Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of fire protection projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standard. This role requires hands-on project leadership, coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders, and ongoing monitoring of financial and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed build budgets before work commencement and prior to procurement activities.
- Organise and manage project execution, including design, material and labour procurement, plant, and subcontractor engagement in line with budgets.
- Supervise and control all employed labour and subcontract services on-site.
- Administer and process subcontractor payments and prepare final accounts.
- Coordinate with head office for invoice approvals and liaise with the buying department for procurement needs.
- Maintain accurate cost-to-complete records versus initial budget for each project.
- Prepare and submit applications for payment and invoice requests for ongoing contracts.
- Assist with sales or estimating functions as required.
- Facilitate smooth project progression by working closely with sales, design, and service departments.
- Represent the company professionally, fostering strong client and stakeholder relationships.
- Promote the company's image as a top-tier, professional contractor in all dealings.
- Support site management and collaborate with all team members to achieve project goals.
- Monitor competitor activity and developments relevant to the fire protection sector.
- Uphold the company's high standards of quality, professionalism, and safety on all projects.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience in project management within the fire protection or related construction sectors.
- Strong budgeting, commercial awareness, and financial control capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client relationship skills.
- Skilled in managing labour and subcontractor teams effectively.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and contract administration.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
- Experience working in data centres (preferred)
Desirable Qualifications:
- Relevant project management or engineering qualifications.
- Knowledge of fire safety systems, building regulations, and industry best practices.
- SMSTS, CSCS card, or other health and safety certifications.
