Job summary

Sureserve Compliance Fire Ltd. is seeking a Fire Maintenance Engineer to deliver maintenance across South - West London. The role covers life safety equipment, emergency lighting and smoke vent systems, complying with BS5839/BS5266 standards and FIA units.

The position is site-based, with a rota of 1 night in 10, offering a basic salary in the 32k–38k range, with overtime and standby potential and a realistic on/off target of 50k–65k OTE. 25 days holiday and a company van are included.

Qualifications

• Previous Fire Maintenance experience.
• Good understanding of the British Standards BS 5839 and BS 5266.
• FIA units (1,3,5) and Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide day to day planned and reactive maintenance of contracts.
• Servicing and maintenance of emergency lighting systems.
• Respond to emergency callouts and carry out remedial works as required.
• Carry out asset verification.
• Install replacement/additional equipment.
• Conduct site surveys as required.
• Support the development of apprentices.
• Maintain professional conduct and customer service at all times.
• Call out rota (1 night in 10).

The Fire Maintenance Engineer will deliver work across South - West London.

Role overview:

The purpose of this role is to provide maintenance and servicing of life safety equipment, emergency light and smoke vent systems, in accordance with all current British & European standards, in accordance with BS5839 standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide day to day planned and reactive maintenance of contracts
• Servicing and maintenance of emergency lighting systems
• To respond to emergency callouts and carry out any remedial works as required
• Carry out asset verification
• Install replacement/additional equipment
• Conduct site surveys as required
• Supporting the development of apprentices
• To act at all times in a professional and diligent manor, considering the need of the clients
• Call out rota (1 night in 10)

Working Environment:

This is operational site-based position and involves collaborating closely with the support service team. While also engaging with our clients. Expect a dynamic and fast paced work setting that combines on site work with on-going communication with office-based colleagues. The role requires proactive interaction and liaison with clients/customers, to ensure effective communication and first-class customer service.
