Job summary

Sureserve Compliance Fire Ltd. invites applications for a Fire Maintenance Engineer to service life safety equipment across South-West London, with on-site duties and responsive callouts.

You will undertake planned and reactive maintenance of emergency lighting, smoke vent systems, and related fire safety assets in line with BS5839 standards. The role includes a 1 in 10 night call-out rota, a company van, pension scheme, 25 days holidays, and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in fire maintenance contracts and servicing.
• Knowledge of BS 5839 and BS 5266 standards.
• FIA units (1,3,5) certification and a valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day planned and reactive maintenance of contracts.
• Service and maintenance of emergency lighting systems.
• Respond to emergency callouts and carry out remedial works as required.
• Carry out asset verification.
• Install replacement/additional equipment.
• Conduct site surveys as required.
• Support the development of apprentices.
• Maintain professional communication with clients.
• Operate a call-out rota (1 night in 10).

The Fire Maintenance Engineer will deliver work across South - West London.

Role overview:

The purpose of this role is to provide maintenance and servicing of life safety equipment, emergency light and smoke vent systems, in accordance with all current British & European standards, in accordance with BS5839 standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide day to day planned and reactive maintenance of contracts
• Servicing and maintenance of emergency lighting systems
• To respond to emergency callouts and carry out any remedial works as required
• Carry out asset verification
• Install replacement/additional equipment
• Conduct site surveys as required
• Supporting the development of apprentices
• To act at all times in a professional and diligent manor, considering the need of the clients
• Call out rota (1 night in 10)

Required Skills and experience:

• Previous Fire Maintenance experience
• Good understanding of the British Standards BS 5839 and BS 5266.
• FIA units (1,3,5)
• Driving Licence

Working Environment:

This is operational site-based position and involves collaborating closely with the support service team. While also engaging with our clients. Expect a dynamic and fast paced work setting that combines on site work with on-going communication with office-based colleagues. The role requires proactive interaction and liaison with clients/customers, to ensure effective communication and first-class customer service.
