Job summary

SECOM Plc is seeking a Fire Installation Engineer for an on-site role in Crawley, UK. You will install a range of fire and life safety systems, ensuring work meets design specs, client expectations, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has proven installation experience across fire and life safety systems, knowledge of wireless, conventional, and addressable fire alarms, and a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Proven installation experience across fire and life safety systems, ideally with knowledge of wireless, conventional & addressable fire alarm systems and compliance.
• Reading technical drawings, digitally literate, customer-focused, and able to work to deadlines and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Install fire and life safety systems including aspirating, PAVA, and disabled refuge systems.
• Ensure installations meet design specifications, client expectations, and regulatory standards.
• Read and interpret plans and drawings, complete digital documentation, order parts, collect equipment.
• Provide site updates to project teams and liaise with internal departments and clients.
• Work to tight deadlines and ensure smooth project handovers.

The role
Responsible for the installation of a range of fire and life safety systems including aspirating, PAVA, disabled refuge systems. You’ll ensure all systems are installed to design specifications and in line with client expectations, delivering high standards of workmanship, compliance, and safety.

Include installing systems to meet technical specifications, reading and interpreting plans and drawings, completing all digital documentation, ordering parts, collecting equipment, and providing site updates to project teams. You'll liaise closely with internal departments and clients, work to strict deadlines, and ensure a smooth transition during project handovers.

The ideal candidate
Includes proven installation experience across fire and life safety systems, ideally with knowledge of wireless, conventional & addressable fire alarm systems and compliance. A full UK driving licence is essential. You should be confident reading technical drawings, digitally literate, customer-focused, and experienced in working to deadlines and compliance standards.
