Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a motivated Forensic Investigator to join the UK team. The role focuses on investigating fire and explosion incidents, determining origin and development, and delivering impartial expert reports for insurers and legal proceedings.

You will work across domestic, commercial, and industrial settings, travelling to scenes, collecting evidence, and collaborating with senior investigators and stakeholders. Training and career development are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline such as Fire Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Forensic Science, or equivalent experience.
• Professional memberships and fire investigation qualifications desirable.
• Experience investigating origin and cause of fire and explosion incidents.
• Strong understanding of fire dynamics and evidence preservation techniques.
• Ability to analyse complex technical information and develop evidence-based conclusions.
• Experience producing clear, impartial technical reports for clients, insurers, and legal proceedings.
