Job summary

Sedgwick UK is seeking a Senior Forensic Investigator (Mechanical) to lead investigations into complex incidents, visiting sites and laboratories to collect evidence and determine root causes. This permanent role combines hands-on analysis with strategic safety work, requiring engineering expertise, regulatory familiarity, and proven expert-witness capability.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience – chartered status preferred, IOSH/NEBOSH certifications.
• Strong understanding and practical application of engineering principles.
• Proven experience in preparing and delivering health and safety processes and procedures.
• Ideally has experience providing expert opinion in legal or insurance contexts.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigations into complex incidents and determine root causes.
