Job summary

FireRite (UK) Ltd is seeking a Fire Extinguisher (Mechanical) Technician to join its mechanical department in South Wales and the West. The role covers installation, commissioning, inspection, maintenance and servicing of extinguishers and related life-safety equipment.

Candidates with extinguisher and fire suppression experience are preferred, but motivated mechanical professionals willing to train are encouraged to apply. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specs.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to complete accurate electronic service records and documentation.
• Willingness to learn and develop in fire protection systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, inspection, installation and commissioning of portable extinguishers and related equipment per BS standards and company procedures.
• Install, commission and maintain new and existing fire protection equipment and systems.
• Conduct customer surveys, assess existing protections and provide recommendations and quotes.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation for assets and certifications.
• Provide technical advice to customers on extinguishers and protection services.
• Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently and to required standards.
• Meet performance, productivity and quality targets and manage time effectively.
• Maintain vehicle, tools, and stock; travel across sites as needed.
