Job summary

Professional Technical Ltd is seeking a meticulous Fire Engineer to drive fire testing programmes and ensure compliance across UK, European, and international standards. You will bridge internal design teams with external UKAS laboratories, owning the planning, execution and documentation of testing for passive fire protection products.

The role requires strong knowledge of fire testing, regulatory frameworks, CAD capabilities, and excellent formal documentation skills to support new product

Qualifications

  • Background in fire testing and compliance within construction, doorset, joinery, or passive fire protection sectors.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks BS 476-22/31.1, EN 1634-1, UL 10C, UL 1784.
  • Proven CAD capability producing and amending 2D/3D drawings for testing and certification.
  • Strong written communication and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and prepare fire resistance and smoke control tests.
  • Prepare samples and product details for external audits and test houses.
  • Liaise with certification bodies and UKAS laboratories.
  • Prepare and maintain technical data sheets, declarations, fire test reports, assessments and certification documents.
  • Collaborate with CAD, Product and Design teams to reflect tested constructions.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and support compliance activities for standards BS 476-22/31.1, EN 1634-1, UL 10C, UL 1784.
