Job summary

Purosearch are recruiting an experienced Fire Engineer to join a growing consultancy in Edinburgh. You will develop and deliver fire strategies for residential and commercial projects, ensuring compliance and practical safety solutions.

The role offers a clear progression path and full support towards Chartership. You will work closely with architects and engineers, produce reports, liaise with clients, and guide projects from concept through to completion on high-profile schemes.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Fire Engineer within a consultancy or similar technical environment.
• Experience developing fire strategies for commercial and/or residential buildings.
• Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation and guidance.
• Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
• The ability to work independently while also contributing within a wider team.
• A proactive approach and ambition to develop your career.
• Chartered status or progression towards chartership would be advantageous with support.

Responsibilities

• Developing fire strategies for a range of commercial and residential buildings.
• Providing fire engineering advice throughout the design and construction process.
• Working closely with architects, designers, contractors and other engineering disciplines.
• Reviewing designs and providing practical, technically sound fire safety solutions.
• Producing technical reports, fire strategies and supporting documentation.
• Attending project meetings and liaising with clients and key stakeholders.
• Supporting the delivery of projects from initial concept through to completion.
• Keeping up to date with relevant legislation, guidance and industry best practice.
