Qualifications
- Degree in Fire Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience working within a fire engineering consultancy.
- Strong knowledge of BS 9999, BS 7974 and Approved Document B.
- Experience producing detailed fire strategies and technical reports.
- Understanding of fire dynamics, means of escape and smoke control.
Responsibilities
- Developing fire strategies for new-build and existing developments.
- Undertaking fire engineering assessments and technical reviews.
- Providing fire safety advice throughout the design and construction stages.
- Carrying out evacuation modelling and smoke control assessments where required.
- Liaising with architects, developers and building control professionals.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant UK fire safety legislation and guidance.
