Job summary

Brandon James is seeking a Principal Fire Engineer to join a leading fire engineering consultancy in Glasgow. You will lead technically complex projects across residential, commercial, healthcare and infrastructure sectors, and manage key client relationships.

Responsibilities include developing performance-based fire strategies, overseeing from early design to construction, mentoring engineers, and contributing to the technical direction of the team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Fire Engineering or related discipline required.
• Experience in UK fire engineering consultancy preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, fire safety legislation and British Standards.
• Experience leading complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional standing.
• Membership of IFE, CIBSE or another relevant institution.
• Strong commercial and client-management experience.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for major fire engineering commissions across diverse sectors.
• Lead development of performance-based fire strategies; oversee design through construction.
• Review complex fire engineering solutions; liaise with clients, architects, contractors and authorities.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to the technical direction of the wider team.
