Job summary

Ridge & Partners Llp is seeking a Fire Engineer to join our growing fire consultancy team. The role supports building design, construction services, and risk assessments across projects in our multidisciplinary offices.

You will contribute to fire safety strategy, risk analysis and compliance with Building Regulations, Fire Safety Order and related standards. The successful candidate will have a relevant degree and IFE membership, with ongoing professional registration supported by Ridge.

Qualifications

• Degree in fire safety or fire risk engineering required.
• Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) and professional registration with the Engineering Council expected.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fire strategy reports and collaborate with design stakeholders.
• Assist clients in meeting Building Regulations, Fire Safety Orders and related legislation.
• Analyze fire risk and advise on appropriate control measures.
• Support internal design teams across multi-disciplinary projects.
• Work on a range of buildings and fire safety challenges.
• Coordinate inspection programmes with the client’s team and schedule works.
• Draft specifications, obtain estimates, plan programmes, monitor site progress and ensure compliance.
• Provide practical, methodical problem solving within budgets and deadlines.
• Offer guidance on Fire Related Building Regulations approvals.
