Job summary

Brandon James is seeking a Fire Engineer to own fire engineering design across the full project lifecycle. The role involves delivering complex fire safety solutions for residential and industrial schemes, with significant autonomy to shape the capability within an established consultancy.

The position is fully remote with projects nationwide; the successful candidate will bring 2–3+ years of experience, strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, and a proven ability to manage fire strategies

Qualifications

• 2-3+ years' experience as a Fire Engineer.
• Experience on complex residential and industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of UK fire safety and Building Regulations.
• Experience producing and managing fire strategies.
• Confidence in managing projects through the design stage.
• Strong technical report-writing and client-facing skills.
• IFE membership or progress towards accreditation would be advantageous.

Remote | Nationwide Projects | Bedford Office

£60,000 - £80,000 DOE

An established fire safety and compliance consultancy is looking for a Fire Engineer to join their growing business. This is a key appointment for an experienced Fire Engineer who wants the opportunity to take ownership of fire engineering design and help develop this capability within an established fire safety company.

The role is fully remote, so location is not an issue. Their office is based in Bedford, while projects are delivered nationwide.

The Role

The successful Fire Engineer will take responsibility for managing fire engineering input across the full design stage, working on a range of complex residential, industrial and other technically challenging projects.

As the company does not currently have an in-house Fire Engineer, this person will have significant autonomy and will play an important role in developing and building the fire engineering function.

The company already delivers a broad range of fire safety services, including:

• Fire Risk Assessments (FRA)
• Fire Safety consultancy
• Fire Protection
• Fire Door inspections and consultancy
• Wider compliance and fire safety supportThe Fire Engineer will work alongside these existing services, providing technical fire engineering expertise from design through to project delivery.

The Fire Engineer

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• 2-3+ years' experience working as a Fire Engineer
• Experience across complex, residential and industrial projects
• Strong knowledge of UK fire safety and Building Regulations
• Experience producing and managing fire strategies
• Confidence managing projects throughout the design stage
• Strong technical report-writing and client-facing skills
• A relevant Fire Engineering qualification
• IFE membership or progress towards professional accreditation would be advantageous
