Job summary

We are working with an established passive fire protection contractor seeking an experienced Fire Door Project/Technical Manager to join their Crawley team. The role covers London and the South East and focuses mainly on Fire Door installation and remedial works (about 90%), with a smaller portion of Fire Stopping projects (10%).

• Minimum 8 years' experience within Fire Door installation or remedial works.
• Experience as Fire Door Project Manager or Technical Manager.
• Strong knowledge of Fire Door assemblies, installation standards, inspections and remedial requirements.
• Experience with Fire Stopping systems and passive fire protection compliance.
• Experience managing multiple live projects with direct operatives and subcontractors.
• Familiarity with BM TRADA and Kiwa (IFC) schemes.
• Experience in occupied residential, healthcare, education or commercial environments.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

• Build strong client relationships and provide regular updates.
• Manage project documentation and QA records.
• Collaborate with senior management and commercial teams for delivery.

We are working with an established and growing passive fire protection contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced Fire Door Project / Technical Manager to join their team based in Crawley.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional with a strong technical background in fire doors to take responsibility for managing multiple projects across London and the South East.

The role will predominantly focus on Fire Door installation and remedial works (90%), alongside a smaller proportion of Fire Stopping projects (10%). Projects span a range of sectors including residential, commercial, healthcare and education, with works undertaken in both occupied and operational environments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple Fire Door installation, remediation and passive fire protection projects from commencement through to completion.
• Oversee a team of approximately 10 operatives, including Supervisors, Carpenters and Fire Stoppers.
• Provide technical guidance on Fire Door installation, remedial works and compliance requirements.
• Assist with site surveys, technical assessments, quotations and project planning.
• Coordinate labour, materials, subcontractors and project programmes to ensure efficient delivery.
• Conduct regular site visits, quality inspections and progress meetings.
• Ensure all works are completed safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Maintain compliance with relevant fire safety regulations and third-party certification requirements, including BM TRADA and Kiwa (IFC).
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing technical advice and regular project updates.
• Manage project documentation, reporting and quality assurance records.
• Work closely with senior management and commercial teams to support successful project delivery.

We are looking for an experienced Fire Door professional who combines strong technical knowledge with proven project management capabilities.

Essential requirements:

• Minimum 8 years' experience within Fire Door installation, remedial works or a closely related technical discipline.
• Previous experience in a Fire Door Project Manager, Technical Manager or similar position.
• Strong technical understanding of Fire Door assemblies, installation standards, inspections and remedial requirements.
• Working knowledge of Fire Stopping systems and passive fire protection compliance.
• Experience managing multiple live projects and coordinating directly employed operatives and subcontractors.
• Familiarity with BM TRADA and/or Kiwa (IFC) third-party certification schemes.
• Experience delivering works in occupied residential, healthcare, education or commercial environments.
• Excellent organisational, communication and client management skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
