Job summary

Jenson Recruitment is seeking an experienced Fire Door & Passive Fire Protection Engineer to join a growing specialist team in Peterborough. You will install, inspect and repair fire doors, carry out passive fire protection works and remedial tasks, ensuring compliance with current standards and third‑party certification requirements.

The role involves surveying sites, producing detailed reports, liaising with clients and site personnel, and travelling to commercial and residential sites.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within fire doors and/or passive fire protection.
• Good understanding of relevant fire safety standards and legislation.
• Practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
• Able to complete accurate reports and documentation.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Relevant fire door/passive fire qualifications would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair fire doors in line with current regulations and third-party certification requirements.
• Carry out fire stopping and compartmentation works, ensuring compliance with fire safety standards.
• Conduct fire door and passive fire surveys, identifying defects, non-compliances, and required remedial actions.
• Identify defects and recommend appropriate remedial solutions
• Complete detailed reports and documentation
• Ensure all works comply with relevant British Standards and industry regulations
• Liaise with clients, contractors and other site personnel
• Travel to various commercial and residential sites as required
