Job description

Fire Door Inspector

£40,000/annum plus package

Location: Manchester (work Nationwide)

Our client, a well-established joinery and fit-out contractor, is seeking experienced surveyors to inspect fire doors in buildings across the UK.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in providing first-class surveying services, ideally with a background in fire compartmentation.

Experience with fire doors and BM-Trada standards is desirable, but not essential, as training will be provided.

Responsibilities include:

1. Carrying out formal door condition reports in accordance with the BM Trada certification scheme, including intrusive/architrave surveys and uploading data into recording software.
2. Generating data and producing formatted reports for door surveys, including an executive summary, for submission to the Technical Director prior to client quotations.
3. Performing site measurements for new door sets and related products such as side screens, fanlights, and over panels, and uploading data into Boris.
4. Attending tender and quotation handover meetings with the operations team to understand upcoming project requirements.

While based in Manchester, the role requires nationwide travel. A vehicle will be provided, but you should be prepared to work from home for extended periods when necessary.
