Responsibilities

The role: Our Safety and Security engineering team is central to our business.

Our engineers are multi-skilled across various technologies and product ranges, with extensive knowledge accumulated over many years. Customer service orientation and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering are essential. Our engineers take pride in their daily work. The role includes mentored training and development, supporting individual growth and future progression.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, commission, and service a wide range of field equipment including fire and intruder alarm systems, CCTV, access control, audio visual, public address, and voice alarm systems.
  • Perform retrofit upgrades and extensions to existing systems as part of remedial works.
  • Provide high levels of customer service.
  • Interpret site plans based on survey documentation to facilitate installations.
  • Respond to reactive call-outs with a focus on first-time fixes.
  • Offer on-site technical support and solutions during reactive and planned visits.
  • Complete documentation according to company standards.
  • Adhere to strict health and safety guidelines.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota.
  • Advise customers on the latest products and services to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Good people management skills.
  • Technical expertise in the primary skill area.
  • Competent administrative skills with knowledge of internal business systems.
  • Sound commercial awareness, including design and pricing of systems and upgrades.
  • Service-oriented, with flexibility for installation tasks when needed.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong team player and relationship builder.
  • Experience within a BAFE, SSAIB, or NSI accredited company.
  • Valid CSCS/ECS card.
  • Certifications such as IPAF, PASMA, Asbestos Awareness.
  • Recent electrical qualifications.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard manufacturers (e.g., Bosch, Dahua, Hikvision, Gent, Advanced, Gallagher, PAC, Win-Pak, Veracity, Milestone).
  • Preference for candidates with Gallagher Access Control expertise.
