JAM Recruitment Ltd on behalf of a Newcastle Upon Tyne based Fire, Security and Electrical contractor is seeking a skilled Fire and Security Engineer. The role covers installation, maintenance and commissioning of fire alarms, emergency lighting, access control, door entry, intruder alarms and CCTV across commercial sites.

You will diagnose faults, carry out planned preventive maintenance and small upgrades, with a focus on customer service and safety.

Job description

This full-time, permanent position suits a skilled Fire and Security Engineer based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Working with a BAFE-accredited contractor, duties cover installation, maintenance and commissioning of fire alarms, emergency lighting, access control, door entry, intruder alarms, CCTV and associated electrical work.

Applicants should bring proven experience across these systems and a commitment to high customer service standards.

Salary ranges from £32,000 to £36,000 depending on experience, with standby pay of £20 per night plus double time per call, door to door, and a minimum two hours for the first call. On-call rotates one week in six. Travel time is paid, less thirty minutes each way. Benefits include a company vehicle, phone, tablet, pension and private medical cover.

Pay: £32,000.00-£36,000.00 per year depending on experience. Standby Payments for on call support - £20 per night + double time per call door to door, minimum 2 hours for 1st call. 1 week in 6. Job Description

They are a Fire, Security and Electrical contractors based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. They specialise in Installation, maintenance and commission of Fire alarm's ( BAFE accredited ) Emergency lighting, Access control, Door entry, Intruder alarms, CCTV and all aspects of electrical work. The company prides itself on their excellent customer service and attention to detail and are looking for a self-motivated professional individual. The role will involve carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive service calls and small installs on a variety of Fire alarm, door entry, access control and security alarm systems. Knowledge of CCTV would be an advantage but not essential.

What we are looking for

• An industry specific accredited qualification. (or working towards)
• A very good understanding of BS5839-1.
• Work on systems including fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and associated equipment.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently and safely
• Provide a high level of customer service at all times.
• Be able to manage own workload and arrange appointments with customers.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with company procedures, health and safety requirements and relevant legislation.
• Opportunities to gain manufacturer and industry qualifications.
• Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicles to a professional standard.
• Good communication skills, be a Team player.
• Flexible and available to participate in a call out rota.
• You will need a valid full Driving Licence
• 3 years minimum experience.
