Recruitment Helpline is seeking an experienced Fire and Security Engineer for a Newcastle-based role. You will perform planned maintenance, service calls and small installations across fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV and access control, while ensuring high standards and safety.

Applicants should hold an industry-specific qualification (or be working towards one), possess BS5839-1 knowledge and at least 3 years of experience, with a valid driving licence.

Qualifications

• Industry-specific accredited qualification (or working towards).
• Strong knowledge of BS5839-1.
• Experience with fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control systems.
• Ability to diagnose faults and repair efficiently and safely.
• Excellent customer service at all times.
• Ability to manage own workload and arrange customer appointments.
• Ensure all work complies with procedures, health and safety requirements and legislation.
• Opportunity to gain manufacturer and industry qualifications.
• Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicles to a professional standard.
• Good communication skills and team player attitude.
• Flexible and available for call-out rota.
• Valid full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance, reactive service calls and small installs on fire and security systems.
• Assist with commissioning and handover of installed systems.
• Provide high levels of customer service and ensure work is completed to a high standard.

Excellent opportunity for an experienced Fire and Security Engineer to join a well-established company

Pay: £32,000.00-£36,000.00 per year depending on experience. Standby Payments for on call support - £20 per night + double time per call door to door, minimum 2 hours for 1st call. 1 week in 6. Travel time paid minus 30 minutes each way

Job Description: They are a Fire, Security and Electrical contractors based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. They specialise in Installation, maintenance and commission of Fire alarm's ( BAFE accredited ) Emergency lighting, Access control, Door entry, Intruder alarms, CCTV and all aspects of electrical work. The company prides itself on their excellent customer service and attention to detail and are looking for a self-motivated professional individual. The role will involve carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive service calls and small installs on a variety of Fire alarm, door entry, access control and security alarm systems. Knowledge of CCTV would be an advantage but not essential.

What we are looking for

• An industry specific accredited qualification. (or working towards)
• A very good understanding of BS5839-1.
• Work on systems including fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and associated equipment.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently and safely
