Job summary

PRS is recruiting a qualified Fire and Security Engineer to service commercial estates across the Humberside area, performing PPM and reactive maintenance on fire alarms, CCTV, access control and intruder systems.

The permanent role offers a salary up to £37,000 (circa £40,000 after probation). A van is supplied with personal use; on-call is 1 in 8 (£130 standby) with overtime. 25 days holiday plus statutory.

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience with fire/security systems.
• High level knowledge of relevant Fire standards.
• High level knowledge of relevant Security standards.
• Excellent diagnostic and fault finding skills; able to resolve by elimination or recommendations.
• Valid full driving license.
• Experience as Fire & Security Engineer in FM/building services.
• Strong maintenance and fault-finding across fire and security systems.
• Knowledge of fire alarms, CCTV, access control and intruder alarms.
• Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Good communication skills and customer-focused approach.
• Industry qualifications or manufacturer training beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice/guidance to staff and customers to resolve issues.

Position: Fire and Security Engineer

Location: Hull / Humberside

Salary: up to £37,000 (circa £40,000 after probation)

We are recruiting for a qualified Fire and security Engineer to work for a prestigious maintenance company who provide maintenance and repair engineering to commercial grade estates across the Humberside area. The role will require the engineer to complete PPM and reactive maintenance on fire alarms, CCTV, access and door control systems etc.

The role is a permanent position paying up to £37,000 (can rise to £40,000 after probation). Van supplied with declared personal use. On call 1 in 8 (£130 standby) and overtime. 25 days holiday plus stat.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience with fire/security systems


• High Level of knowledge of relevant Fire standards


• High Level of knowledge of relevant Security standards


• Excellent diagnostic and fault finding skills, with the ability to resolve by elimination or technical recommendations.


• Valid full driving license


• Proven experience working as a Fire & Security Engineer within the FM or building services environment.


• Strong maintenance and fault-finding experience across fire and security systems.


• Knowledge of systems including fire alarms, CCTV, access control and intruder alarms.


• Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance.


• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.


• Relevant industry qualifications or manufacturer training would be advantageous.

The Fire and Security Engineer will be completing routine service calls and dealing with fault calls. The technician will be expected to solve problems within the defined area, or sites. At this level the technician will be expected to have a good level of knowledge across CCTV, Access Control, Intruder and Fire.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical knowledge in order to diagnose, problem solve and develop solutions to faults


• Direct and take personal responsibility for running technical performance of customer defined mission critical equipment and buildings.


• Provide technical advice and guidance to other staff and customers in order to resolve problems.


• Ensure that work completed on site and on project fully conforms to relevant company, customer and legal standards.


• Responsible for delivery of the contract, including the cost, quality, timeliness of work completed.


• Manage relationship with customer and liaise with customer to ensure customer is kept fully informed and project a positive professional image of self


• Ensure that work completed on site/project/contract fully conforms to relevant company, customer and legal standards and H&S procedures.
