Job summary

London Security Plc is seeking a Fire Alarm Engineer to install, commission, service, and maintain fire alarm systems across commercial, industrial, and residential properties. You will diagnose faults, conduct testing to BS standards, and complete service reports.

The role is field-based with travel to customer sites, on-call rota, and occasional overnight stays. Applicants should hold NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent and have knowledge of conventional and addressable systems; FIA qualifications are

Qualifications

• Experience installing and servicing fire alarm systems.
• Knowledge of BS 5839 standards and fire safety regulations.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and maintain fire alarm systems in commercial, industrial, and residential properties.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits in accordance with scheduled service agreements.
• Diagnose and rectify faults on fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Conduct testing and inspection of fire alarm equipment to relevant standards.
• Complete all service and maintenance documentation accurately and promptly.
• Ensure all works comply with current fire safety legislation, British Standards, and company procedures.
• Provide technical advice and support to customers regarding system operation and maintenance.
• Attend emergency callouts and breakdowns as required.
• Liaise with customers, office staff, and management to ensure effective communication of site works.
• Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicle, and stock levels.
• Identify opportunities for remedial works and system upgrades.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures and conduct risk assessments when required.
