Job summary

Hall & Kay Fire Engineering is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to service, maintain and support addressable and conventional systems across client sites in the UK. The role offers training on our product range and opportunities for career progression within a specialist fire engineering team.

You will conduct servicing, PPM and technical support, while travelling to sites. A full UK driving licence and strong customer service focus are essential for success in this hands-on,

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fire alarm systems maintenance.
• Familiar with BS5839 standards (essential).
• FIA or equivalent training is highly desirable.
• Hold a full UK Driving Licence (essential).
• Provide a professional service with attention to detail.

Summary of Role

You will be responsible for the service, PPM and technical support of fire alarm systems.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop and progress you career within the fire engineering sector working on the latest technology in fire alarms.

You will receive full training on our range of products either via our chosen manufacturers, industry recognised training courses or via our in-house product training facility.

What you will be doing

• Conducting servicing, PPM and technical support on fire alarm systems for our clients.
• Service and maintain Fire Alarm Systems - Addressable and conventional
• You may be required, on occasion to provide cover in other areas and stay away.

What we will need from you

• Proven & demonstrable experience in fire alarm systems maintenance gained over a number of years (essential)
• Familiar with and understand BS5839 standards (essential)
• FIA or equivalent training is highly desirable.
• Hold a full UK Driving Licence (essential).
• Provide a professional service at all times demonstrating meticulous attention to detail, quality and customer service (essential)
• Able to work independently, with little supervision but also able to work successfully as part of a team (essential).
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with a range of customers/clients/internal colleagues (essential).
• Reliability and punctuality qualities are essential to this role.

• Salary Range competitive & negotiable depending on level of experience

• Hours: 36.5 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 8.45 - 16.40, Friday 8.45 - 4pm)
• Call out rota - 1 in 8 days + standby allowance.
• Call out rate - Min of 3 hours for first call out for one occurrence. Paid at applicable over time rates.
• Travel time paid after 1 hour.
