Job summary

Fortus Recruitment Group is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Engineer to service, maintain, and install fire alarm systems across commercial and residential sites in London. You will ensure life safety systems comply with current UK standards and operate efficiently.

The role requires proven experience with addressable and conventional systems, FIA electrical qualifications preferred, CSCS/ECS card, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Engineer (service, maintenance, or commissioning).
• Strong working knowledge of addressable and conventional fire systems (e.g., Advanced, Morley, Kentec, Gent).
• FIA units or relevant electrical qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3) preferred.
• Valid CSCS/ECS card.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing, fault finding, and maintenance of fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Carrying out small works, installations, and commissioning of new systems.
• Ensuring all work complies with BS 5839 standards.
• Completing digital service sheets, certificates, and job reports accurately.
• Participating in an on-call rota for emergency call-outs (if required).
