Job summary

Northcote M&E in London is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to focus on small works, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of fire alarm systems across London and surrounding areas.

The role requires 3+ years' experience, strong BS 5839 knowledge, and a full UK driving licence with own tools. The position offers £50,000 per annum with 8:00am–4:00pm hours and coverage of London & surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Fire Alarm Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of BS 5839 and related standards.
• Competent in installing, testing and commissioning fire alarm systems.
• Full UK driving licence and the ability to work with own tools.

Responsibilities

• Install, second fix and commission fire alarm systems.
• Carry out planned servicing and maintenance.
• Fault find, diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
• Ensure installations are compliant with BS 5839 and current regulations.
• Complete works professionally and maintain high client service standards.

Fire Alarm Engineer - Small Works & Servicing

• Salary: £50,000 per annum
• Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm
• Location: London & surrounding areas

A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to join a well-established, BAFE-approved Fire & Security contractor.

The successful candidate will primarily carry out small works, second fixing, commissioning and servicing of fire alarm systems across London and the surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Installing, second fixing and commissioning fire alarm systems
• Carrying out planned servicing and maintenance
• Fault finding, diagnosing and resolving issues efficiently
• Ensuring systems are installed, commissioned and maintained to the highest standards
• Ensuring all work complies with BS 5839, current fire safety regulations and company procedures
• Completing works professionally and providing a high standard of service to clients

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Fire Alarm Engineer
• Strong working knowledge of BS 5839 and other relevant standards
• Competent in installing and commissioning fire alarm systems
• Strong fault-finding and servicing skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Valid ECS/CSCS card
• Own hand and power tools
• Ability to work independently and maintain high standards of workmanship
