Job summary

Snap Finance UK is seeking a commercially minded Risk & Compliance Manager to shape risk strategy and influence decisions across the business. You will work with the Chief Risk Officer and senior leaders to strengthen risk and compliance frameworks while balancing regulatory duties with growth objectives.

You will lead risk assessments, monitor regulatory changes, and deliver insightful metrics and board-ready reports.

Qualifications

• Experience in risk, compliance or enterprise risk management within consumer credit, financial services, banking, lending or fintech.
• Strong understanding of FCA regulatory requirements, including Consumer Duty, CONC, SYSC, AML and data protection.
• Strong commercial awareness balancing objectives with risk
• Excellent analytical skills interpreting data and identifying risks
• Confident engaging with senior leaders and Board-level stakeholders
• Strong stakeholder management and independent challenge capabilities
• Experience supporting strategic initiatives and product development with risk metrics
• Experience in regulated consumer lending or governance/audit qualifications is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Embed risk and compliance into business strategy, influencing decision-making and product development.
• Strengthen and monitor Risk Management and Compliance Frameworks and identify regulatory changes.
• Lead enterprise-wide risk assessments and maintain Risk and Control Registers.
• Conduct control validation exercises and targeted reviews against risk appetite.
• Oversee regulatory compliance and support monitoring programmes and remediation.
• Use data to identify emerging risks and performance gaps with meaningful metrics.
• Deliver clear risk reporting to senior leadership, committees and the Board.
• Foster strong governance and effective stakeholder relationships across the business.
