Job summary

FinOps Weekly seeks a Senior FinOps & Technology Cost Manager to own visibility, control and optimisation across cloud, SaaS, AI, and broader technology spend. You will shape how technology investment is tracked, governed and reported to support smarter decisions about where money is used.

The role partners with Technology, Finance and Contract Management to strengthen forecasting, budgeting and reporting while driving cost efficiency and cost-aware engineering practices in a London hybrid

Qualifications

  • Experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, technology finance, or a similar discipline.
  • Track record of improving spend visibility, forecasting accuracy, cost allocation, and financial control.
  • Strong analytical skills: trend, variance, forecasting, KPI tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Own reporting, forecasting, and budget tracking across cloud, SaaS, AI, and technology spend.
  • Improve cost efficiency through rightsizing, commitment management, and waste reduction.
  • Maintain accurate forecasts, monitor variances, and define corrective actions.
  • Build dashboards and reporting for leadership decision-making.
  • Define and maintain standards for cost allocation, tagging, ownership, and governance.
  • Partner with Technology, Finance, and Contract Management to strengthen cost control.
  • Lead spend reviews to identify risks, trends, anomalies and opportunities.
  • Manage SaaS licensing and vendor spend, including renewals and contract value.
  • Track and optimise AI platform costs, including licences, APIs, and token usage.
  • Promote cost-aware engineering practices without impacting delivery.

You will help define how technology investment is tracked, governed, and reported so the organisation can make better decisions about where money is being used.Working across Technology, Finance, and Contract Management, you will strengthen forecasting, budget management, and reporting while identifying risks, trends, and opportunities to reduce waste. The role also supports cost-aware engineering practices and better financial discipline without affecting delivery.Our Future Health’s mission is to improve the prevention, detection, and treatment of conditions such as dementia, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.## Key Responsibilities– Own reporting, forecasting, and budget tracking across cloud, SaaS, AI, and wider technology spend. – Improve cost efficiency through rightsizing, commitment management, and waste reduction. – Maintain accurate forecasts, monitor variances, and agree corrective actions. – Build dashboards and reporting for leadership decision-making. – Define and maintain standards for cost allocation, tagging, ownership, and governance. – Partner with Technology, Finance, and Contract Management to strengthen cost control. – Lead regular spend reviews to identify risks, trends, anomalies, and optimisation opportunities. – Manage SaaS licensing and vendor spend, including utilisation, renewals, and contract value. – Track and optimise AI platform costs, including licences, APIs, and token usage. – Promote cost-aware engineering practices that improve efficiency without impacting delivery.## Required Skills– Experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, technology finance, or a similar discipline. – A track record of improving spend visibility, forecasting accuracy, cost allocation, and financial control. – Strong analytical skills, including trend analysis, variance analysis, forecasting, and KPI tracking. – Experience defining and embedding standards for cost allocation, tagging, ownership, and reporting. – Clear communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership. – Cross-functional experience working with Technology, Finance, and Commercial or Contract Management teams. – Confidence influencing decisions, challenging inefficiencies, and driving cost accountability. – Comfort working in a scaling or evolving environment where processes and controls are still developing.## Preferred Skills– FinOps Certified Practitioner certification, or equivalent hands-on FinOps experience. – Experience with cloud cost management, billing data, budgeting, and reporting tools. – Exposure to SaaS licensing, utilisation tracking, renewals, and vendor spend management. – Experience managing AI platform costs, including licences, APIs, and token consumption.## Cloud Platforms & Technologies– Cloud – SaaS – AI platforms – APIs – Billing data – Budgeting and reporting tools – Dashboards – Token usage## FinOps Responsibilities– Improve visibility and control over cloud, SaaS, AI, and technology spend. – Lead forecasting, budget tracking, and variance management. – Drive rightsizing, commitment management, and waste reduction. – Establish cost allocation, tagging, ownership, and governance standards. – Build reporting and dashboards for leadership use. – Run spend reviews to identify risks, trends, anomalies, and optimisation opportunities. – Manage SaaS licensing, utilisation, renewals, and vendor spend. – Track AI-related costs across licences, APIs, and token usage. – Support cost-aware engineering practices.## Benefits– Salary from £75,000 per annum. – Employer pension contributions of up to 12%. – 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays. – Enhanced parental leave. – Cycle to Work scheme with savings of 25–39% on a new bike and accessories. – Home & Tech savings of up to 8% on IKEA and Currys products, with costs spread over 12 months through salary sacrifice. – £1,000 employee referral bonus. – Wellbeing support, including Mental Health First Aiders, 24/7 online GP services, and an Employee Assistance Programme for you and your family. – Central London office in Holborn, with flexible and remote working arrangements.## Why You Might Be InterestedThis role gives you ownership of a broad technology spend portfolio, including cloud, SaaS, and AI.
