Job summary

Telefónica Tech is seeking a FinOps Engineer to drive cost optimisation and efficiency across cloud environments in the UK. The role delivers maximum value from public cloud investments and aligns FinOps capabilities to cost governance.

The successful candidate will examine cost data, implement rate and usage optimisations, and guide customers on cost-effective architectural decisions while collaborating with managed services teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on FinOps experience with cloud cost optimization
• Strong knowledge of the FinOps framework and lifecycle
• Experience with native and third-party cloud cost tools
• Proven ability to communicate cost insights to stakeholders
• Experience with Terraform / IaC and DevOps practices

Responsibilities

• Examine, analyse, prioritise cloud cost optimisation recommendations and calculate potential savings and benefits
• Implement rate and usage optimisations within public cloud environments (Azure, AWS and GCP)
• Guide our customers in making cost-effective architectural decisions
• Communicate FinOps principles to key stakeholders with our customers
• Collaborate with managed services teams to design and implement cost optimisations and best practices.
• Build and manage a backlog on cost-saving initiatives
• Architect and develop automation runbooks to help drive cloud cost efficiencies, along with continual development of Policy as Code initiatives, further bolstering Cloud Cost Governance
