Job summary

Telefónica Tech UK&I in Wisborough Green is seeking a qualified Financial Accountant with an audit background to join our finance team. You will move from practice into industry, focusing on financial reporting, audit management and IFRS compliance.

The role involves supporting monthly management accounts, intercompany reconciliations, revenue recognition analysis and coordinating external audits while collaborating with senior finance stakeholders to improve processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with Big 4 or leading accountancy practice background.
• Experience in financial services or complex corporate environments is a plus.
• Experience with IFRS and financial reporting standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the production of monthly management accounts.
• Supervise Purchase Ledger team and oversee financial reporting for the Professional Service Practice.
• Review profit and loss and balance sheet reconciliations; manage intercompany transactions.
• Coordinate annual external audit and support internal controls enhancements.
• Provide technical accounting guidance across the finance function.

Financial Accountant(Audit Background)

We’re looking for a qualified Financial Accountant who wants to move beyond professional practice and become part of a growing commercial business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone trained within a Big 4 or leading accountancy firm who enjoys the technical side of accounting but is keen to see the real-world impact of their work within an operational environment.

You’ll play a key role in financial reporting, audit management, and technical accounting while working closely with senior finance stakeholders across the business.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting the production of monthly management accounts
• Supervision of Purchase Ledger team
• Owner and Expert of the Professional Service Practice financial reporting
• Reviewing and analysing profit and loss performance
• Managing lease accounting and IFRS compliance
• Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
• Performing revenue recognition analysis and reporting
• Coordinating the annual external audit process
• Supporting and enhancing internal audit activities and controls
• Preparing group reporting submissions
• Managing intercompany reconciliations and transactions
• Providing technical accounting support across the finance function
• Contributing to finance improvement projects and ad hoc initiatives

What We’re Looking For

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
• Strong audit background gained within a Big 4 or leading accountancy practice
• Experience auditing financial services, financial institutions, or complex corporate environments
• Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting standards
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• A proactive approach and desire to build a career within industry
