An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Goods Inward Inspector within the defence sector.

The opportunity:

The Goods Inward Inspector is responsible for ensuring that goods received from suppliers meet the criteria of the purchase order and are compliant in all respects.

Responsibilities:

  1. Verify and accept procured products in line with contractual conditions.
  2. Read and understand assembly drawings.
  3. Inspect the finish of all parts for faults, surface deterioration, etc.
  4. Perform first article inspections.
  5. Produce relevant inspection and quality control documentation.
  6. Complete all paperwork related to delivered items.
  7. Ensure inspection service level agreements are met according to manufacturing demand.
  8. Segregate defective items and raise defect reports.
  9. Maintain product verification approval through regular audits, including PCB inspection.
  10. Ensure compliance with manufacturing procedures.
  11. Maintain high standards of workmanship and product quality.
  12. Contribute to a safe and orderly working environment.

Candidate requirements:

  • Team player with customer focus and adaptability to work processes.
  • Formal technical engineering or craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21, plus a Level 3 qualification (e.g., diploma).
  • SAP literacy is desirable.
