Job summary

National Skills Agency Ltd is seeking a Financial Services Tutor to manage a caseload of apprentices, delivering high-quality training and coaching to ensure successful apprenticeship outcomes and progression to gateway and end-point assessment.

You will support English, maths, digital skills and wider employability development, while maintaining learner records and adherence to safeguarding and Ofsted standards. A Level 3 teaching qualification and driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and maths at grade 4–9 or equivalent.
• Level 3 teaching qualification (AET/PTLLS or equivalent).
• CAVA and/or IQA qualification.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Experience delivering training and supporting learners.
• Knowledge of Ofsted requirements and quality standards.
• Strong communication, organisation and time-management skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and online learning platforms.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Financial Services Tutor

Salary: £40-£45k depending on experience

Location: Home-based, with travel as required

Role Overview

The Financial Services Tutor will manage a caseload of apprentices, providing high-quality training, coaching and mentoring to support successful achievement of their apprenticeship and progression to gateway and end-point assessment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, high-quality training and support to apprentices.
• Manage a caseload and monitor learner progress and achievement.
• Conduct regular reviews with apprentices and employers.
• Set targets, identify skills gaps and provide appropriate support.
• Provide feedback and help apprentices prepare for gateway and end-point assessment.
• Maintain accurate learner records and complete required documentation.
• Build positive relationships with apprentices, employers and colleagues.
• Identify learners at risk and implement appropriate improvement plans.
• Support English, maths, digital skills and wider employability development.
• Contribute to quality improvement, team activities and business development.
• Maintain current industry knowledge and comply with safeguarding, Ofsted and company requirements.

Person Specification

Essential:

• GCSE English and maths at grade 4–9 or equivalent.
• Level 3 teaching qualification (AET/PTLLS or equivalent).
• CAVA and/or IQA qualification.
• Relevant subject knowledge or qualification.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Experience delivering training and supporting learners.
• Knowledge of Ofsted requirements and quality standards.
• Strong communication, organisation and time-management skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and online learning platforms.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

• Experience delivering Functional Skills English and maths.
• Curriculum and resource development experience.
• Experience using platforms such as OneFile.

Additional requirement: Enhanced DBS check, including Children's Barred List.
